Although the game indicates when a player is about to run out of projectiles, it also surprises them by refilling the tube. That said, Bubble Town supplies several boosters, including a fire bubble that burns through non-matching bubbles and a cross-hair bubble that makes targeting easier. Since the bubbles are different types of heads, they sometimes fall asleep, which means the player loses a shot by hitting them with a projectile to wake them up. Any bubble heads hanging below those targeted fall as well and refill the tube and cannon. They use a laser-targeting system to shoot each projectile at two or more matching heads connected on the field to remove them from it. The player receives similar head projectiles in the cannon via a clear, plastic tube. A player must stop the aliens by shooting the heads of Borbs and Lumps inside of a playfield with a cannon. Bubble Town is a bubble-shooting game about the lives of the Borb Bay Borbs who are fighting an invasion from a mysterious, strange alien race known as the Lumps.
